My commitments

Living our Catholic values

Schools that stand by their faith, taught with rigour, inside the Ontario curriculum. A school climate where every student, without exception, feels welcomed, loved and safe.

An education faithful to Church teaching

The CECCE must deliver a Catholic education faithful to the teaching of the Church. That is its reason for existing, and I will defend it.

My commitment is to bring our community together under the love of Christ, to accompany every young person with compassion, and to look after their mental health and their academic success.

Resources consistent with our mission

Library resources, textbooks, awareness campaigns and approved activities must be consistent with Church teaching, with Catholic social teaching, and with the Ontario curriculum.

The family life program

In Ontario, the Health and Physical Education curriculum is mandatory; in our schools it is delivered through the family life program approved for Catholic schools.

I will make sure it is taught with theological accuracy, with sensitivity, and with respect for student development, and that parents are informed of the content in advance.

A written invitation process

The people we invite into our schools must be consistent with the Catholic educational mission of the CECCE. I will support a written invitation process that school administrators know and apply, so these decisions are predictable rather than improvised. Our students deserve role models who inspire excellence and who respect our mission.
